The Rough Guide to the Flute & Piccolo/Clarinet (2 books

Post by Robwob »

Whatcha!

As a novice, I found the above books very.very useful giving all sorts of information on flute's/Clarinets etc. - although they are both out of print, try to get one, or either, if you can.

(I got mine of the net through ABE Books.Com)

Circular breathing anybody know anything about it - and how easy is it to learn - or is it worth bothering with?

Pearl flute's Serial Numbers - anyone in Fluteland can tell me the year, or any details, about my Pearl Model No:- PF 661 (Pupil flute?)
serial No:- 4266 ?

Lucette Flute's, I've also got one of those, any info?

Be of good cheer . . .

Circular breathing is a technique used (originally) by didgeridoo players. It is a technique where you literally comserve pockets of air in your mouth while continuing to play and breathe. In my opinion, not worth the effort for flute players. Just a novelty.

I don't know anything about Pearl serial numbers, but I am pretty sure that the 661 is no longer produced. You may be able to find out more info through Pearl www.pearlflutes.com you can find contact info there. The company should be able to give you the specs for your flute, and maybe the year of production.
