Private Teachers

Post by bandnerd »

Hello, I have been playing flute in my school band for about 3 years... I think I am advanced enough to need a private teacher. Does anyone know of any good ones in the North Texas area?

I live in West Texas, but I don't know any private teachers there. I hope you can find a good one!

Bandnerd,

Are you still looking for a teacher? I haven't checked this board in a while. I live in North Texas. Actually in between Dallas and Ft. Worth. I taught flute in Austin, but have not set one up yet here. If you need lessons and are close, I'm game. Send a PM my direction!

If you live in or near Denton, you might consider contacting Dr. Mary Karen Clardy, long-time (and well respected) flute professor at University of North Texas. She may not be able to take you on as a student due to her university demands, but could probably give you good leads on teachers in the area. Terri Sundberg (a former student of my teacher, Thomas Nyfenger), I believe, teaches there now as well and she could probably do the same thing.
